Groundbreaking
LYNDEN TRIBUNE:
Mountain View Christian Reformed Church members gathered Monday evening for the official ground-breaking ceremony for their new church.  To be constructed on the Old Guide just north of the King Tut Road, the first stage is to be completed in 150 days.  The first stage consists of a social hall to be used as a sanctuary and also an educational wing including the pastor's study and 12 Sunday School rooms.  Dawson Construction Co. is the contractor for the $61,630 project, with much of the finishing work to be by volunteer labor.  The estimated cost of the completed first stage is $129,350, according to Henry Mans, vice president of the Consistory.

Mountain View Christian Reformed Church Bulletin - July 16, 1972
Today marks the first anniversary of Mountain View.  One year ago today the church held its first worship service.  During its first year the church has grown by 15 families, has added 8 new members through baptism, 2 through profession of faith.  The first stage building plans have also been completed, and bids have been let for the construction of both the parsonage and the parish hall.  Nineteen acres of property were also acquired.  Looking back we have every reason to rejoice and be glad in the goodness of God.
As found on our Dedication Announcement:

We are a Reformed Church tracing our tradition and history back to the Protestant Reformation.  We hold to and emphasize the following truths:
  • That the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
  • That the Bible is an open Book for all to read and understand.
  • That the cornerstone of living faith is: "By grace are you saved through faith," Ephesians 2:5

Our Program...
We are a family church.  The services and activities are organized to provide religious instruction, inspiration and fellowship for children, young people, and adults.  Besides the two Sunday Worship services, and Church Bible School, we have a Youth Group that meets weekly, a Young Couples Group, a Women's Bible Study Group,  an Adult and Family Fun Evening once a month, and we hope to begin a Boy's and a Girl's Group this coming September.
